Speeches

Art Schreiber is available for speaking engagements for your organization or special event.

His fascinating career as a news journalist allowed him the opportunity to travel with a variety of newsmakers including John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Barry Goldwater.

He covered manned spaceflight and interviewed John Glenn.

His most exciting assignment was traveling with The Beatles on their first North American tour in 1964.

Art woke up blind on August 22, 1982.

After serious training to learn to live life to the fullest as a blind person, he continued to work full time in the news industry, running the largest radio station in Albuquerque until his retirement.

For several decades, he has worked endlessly to help those who are blind or losing their sight through volunteering hundreds of hours with the National Federation of the Blind and the New Mexico Commission for the Blind.

Art is a frequent speaker for groups who are looking for a riveting speaker who inspires, informs, educates, entertains and charms his audiences with extraordinary stories of his unique experiences.

Art's radio voice, impeccable timing and interesting topics have him in high demand as a speaker.

Some of Art's most popular speech topics include:

  • There IS Life After Blindness
  • How Paul McCartney Saved my Career
  • Selma to Montgomery with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
  • The James Meredith March Across Mississippi
  • How Astronaut John Glenn Got Me a Promotion
